General Purpose

Is responsible for the sourcing or execution of components, materials, products or services of a specified technology or product area. Manages suppliers of one or more responsibility areas. Works with other organisations to ensure that the material or service meets pre- determined quality, technology, supply and cost criteria.
Main Responsibility Area
Is responsible for sourcing expertise in defined areas. Monitors supplier performance and creates development plans. Responsible for contracting and negotiating the prices. Participates in subcommodity strategy creation and/or implementation. Develops and manages supplier relationships in own area. Creates and maintains instructions and documents processes in own responsibility area. Supports and coaches other team members in complex issues and acts as a source of Sourcing expertise to others.

Position Description

Purpose of the Role:

Main procurement interface into the CT during project tender and delivery phase
Ensure appropriate GPR support for the customer cases

Key responsibility areas:

  • Drives procurement needs in the project by setting schedules and communicating requirements to relevant parties (including Regional/Global Category Managers of all categories needed in the project)
  • Implements and executes Category Strategies in respective projects
  • Interface towards customer teams
  • Manages project requirements regarding material and service supplier base for respective project(s)
  • Contributes to supplier selection including collecting input from Project (related to local categories), if required
  • Contributes to supplier relationship management for respective projects in alignment & cooperation with Category Manager (CM) taking into account inputs from Supplier Development , Legal & Compliance Customer Team, Business Units
  • Acts as the first & main escalation channel regarding day-by-day issues on supplier performance in projects
  • Provides local market and project specific input to Category Managers for category strategy definition and supplier performance
  • Provides broad knowledge of local market and project specific requirements (i.e. cultural, security, geographical region specific requirements on projects).
  • Ensures alignment, anticipates changes and drives activities based on supply market changes
  • Acts as a category manager for the local categories if so agreed with the RCM/GCM

Position Requirements

  • Several years sourcing experience
  • Knows nature of project business and does have proper Project management skills
  • Knowledge of supplier market
  • Negotiation skills and experience
  • Knowledge of service business
  • Excellent english language skills both oral and written
  • Greek language would be an advantage
